Unfortunately many times this approach was unconsciously somehow 'supported' by the people whom the homes were designed for - lots of home owners did not understand or ignored their own deep seated desires and needs and rather followed some trend or picked a style or looks from some fancy interior magazine. No wonder later on they did not enjoy their own home - even though they could not quite explain the reason.
Luckily for all of us this has changed for a while - there are more and more professionals as well as home owners who look at a home with a holistic approach.
